Valley of the Grand Lauter
Welcome to the valley of the Danube’s prettiest tributary! The great Lauter river rises in the picturesque courtyard of the former Offenhausen convent. It winds along its natural river bed for 40 km, along juniper-covered heaths, past caves, woods, rocks, quaint villages and ruined castles to the point of confluence with the Danube between Obermarchtal and Untermarchtal.

The former Münsingen military training camp
Welcome to the former Münsingen military training camp. Here you will enjoy a unique landscape, reminiscent of times past. The land formerly occupied by the Münsingen military training camp in “Münsinger Hardt“ and the adjoining areas have remained largely untouched by housing, roads, farming and other intensive economic activity. Continuously populated by grazing sheep, the land now resembles a large natural park dedicated to pasture, as was common on the Swabian Alb in the 19th century.

Canoeing
The whole family can have fun canoeing on the river Lauter. The calmly flowing Lauter is interrupted at intervals between Buttenhausen and Indelhausen by small rapids and waterfalls that make this trip an experience to remember.
