Eating out
Lentils with spätzle (a special South German pasta), braised beef with onions, leg of lamb or “Maultaschen“ (a Swabian speciality like large ravioli); these are just some of the traditional delicacies you will find on the menus of our restaurants as well as new gastronomic creations. Many restaurateurs source products from the region, from local sheep and cattle farmers, from growers and juice producers. Examples are spelt, lamb and apple juice. We can provide you with more information upon request. If you fancy something different, you will also find Mediterranean and Asian specialities to satisfy your yearnings for international food.

The central Swabian Alb with its traditional agriculture offers a wide range of regional specialities, which can be admired and bought at weekly farmers’ markets and in organic shops. This is produce that forms the basis for the local cuisine.
Here, a delicious array of food awaits: spätzle made from local spelt, elderberry and sloe juice, mozzarella from the milk of buffalos living on the Alb, juniper schnapps and bread from local cereals.
