Swabian Alb UNESCO Geopark

Experience the history of the world - live - in the Swabian Alb Geopark! In the Swabian Alb Geopark you can view unique excavations of fossils, fossilised lake reefs from the Jura lake, volcanic and meteor craters, caves, karst springs, and characteristic landscape formations. All of these sights will make the history of the planet unfold in front of your eyes.

But the Geopark is not just about geology. Impressive archaeological finds such as the oldest known examples of art and musical instruments from a stone age community, as well as Celtic jewellery, castles and mansions belonging to more recent dynasties all bear witness to humankind’s long history on the Alb.
